At KCI, we take seriously our responsibility to preserve the world's natural resources and continually strive to incorporate, in the development, manufacture and delivery of our therapies, measures that reduce the overall environmental impact. As a world leader in our markets, we are committed to global environmental leadership to help ensure sustainable development and the improved health of our planet.

The KCI environmental commitment includes:

• Managing our daily business operations in a manner that is regulation compliant, energy efficient and environmentally responsible.
  • Ensuring the selection and deployment of fuel efficient vehicles within our service fleet
  • Selection and use of ecologically friendly cleaning materials in our world-wide service centres
  • Complying with all relevant global and local regulations relating to the use and deployment of our products in all the markets we serve
  • Continually reducing travel to minimise our carbon footprint
• Using renewable resources in the design and manufacturing of our products and in our daily business practices whenever possible
  • Selecting recyclable materials in the design and manufacture of our medical devices
  • At the retirement of our rental products, ensuring that we recycle the materials wherever possible
• Implementing source reduction and waste minimisation best practices throughout our manufacturing process and waste disposal activities
  • Implementing recycling for paper, metals and glass in all KCI facilities
  • Introducing initiatives to minimise the use of printed materials in our communications and record keeping
• Educating our employees, and the end-users of our products on proper waste disposal methods
  • Providing learning materials to all KCI employees on the importance of recycling and minimising waste and energy consumption both at work and in their homes
  • Providing recycling programmes at all KCI facilities
• Working with our suppliers to purchase recycled products whenever possible and to assist our suppliers in developing environmentally friendly products and programmes
  • Selecting suppliers geographically located to minimise delivery distances
  • Encouraging our suppliers to reduce waste in their own operations
